11/27 Assignments

Social Studies: We went over hieroglyphs in class. We worked on our cartouches that will be hung up on lockers. A: None

Math: We finished section 4.1 notes and began working on WS 4.1 in class. I am hoping to post a video soon over section 4.1 on http://educreations.com

A: WS 4.1

Language Arts: We went over the spelling packets that are due on Friday as well as adjectives and adverbs in our Shurely English books. To finish class, we reviewed inferencing as a class.

A: Spelling packet due on Friday along with a spelling test. For Wednesday, Classroom Practice 4 and the new inferencing worksheets are both due.

11/26 Assignments

Social Studies: Today we discussed the "Mummy's Curse" and discussed a possible reason for King Tut's death. We also began looking at how the Egyptians used hieroglyphics. A: None

Math: We took a Chapter 4 pretest and began taking notes over 4.1. A: None

Language Arts: We discussed an in class read aloud. We also looked at the vocabulary words for this week's story. A: Vocab/Inference WS

11/7 Assignments

Social Studies:  Today we discussed the results of the election in class.  We looked at how the states voted and viewed a small portion of the speeches the candidates made last night.
Assignments:  None

Math:  We went over ws 3.3.  The students worked on a story problem sheet during class today.  The only "assignment" is to bring the sheet back tomorrow.  The answers will be extra credit on the quiz tomorrow.
Assignment:  There will be a quiz tomorrow over sections 3.1 and 3.3.

TAP:  Don't forget to bring in canned goods for the can food drive going on until 11/14.  I am also collecting $3 for the Rivermen hockey game that will take place on 1/23.

Language Arts:  We worked on typing the final draft of the students' Halloween stories.  Most students are finished.  We will be doing peer editing soon and completely finish our stories next week.
Assignment:  There is no assignment.

11/5 Assignments

Social Studies:  Today, we went over a little bit of the Egyptian religion and watched a video over the Ancient Egyptian culture.
Assignment:  There is no assignment due tomorrow, however, key terms are due on Thursday and Egyptian day is on Friday.

Math:  We continued to look at decimals today in class.
Assignment:  WS 3.1 is tomorrow.  It will be a completion grade.

Language Arts:  The students were given spelling packets that are due on Friday.  The spelling test will be on Friday as well.  I will be choosing 20 words for the spelling test.  We also worked on making a final copy of our Halloween stories on the laptops as well.
Assignment:  Spelling packets are due on Friday.

Egyptian Religion

Today we are going to be learning about Egyptian religion.  We are going to be focusing on the gods of ancient Egypt.  Since they had multiple gods, they had a polytheistic religion.  You will be going to the website below and reading on gods that you would like to read about.  Be sure to read about at least 3 gods and 2 symbols as that is required for the assignment.

For the assignment, answer the questions on the SMART board.  Be sure you have a complete heading on your paper.

If you get finished, you can read about any additional gods or symbols that you wish.  You will find many of the gods' stories are interwoven, or cross, with each other.
